Web design for UK small businesses, near Darwen

A website that explains the work and makes the next step obvious.

Based in Darwen, working across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and beyond (and remotely anywhere in the UK). We design and build the site around how the business actually gets its customers. The first step is a look at the site you have.

Your website might be costing you customers.

  • Not mobile friendly

Most enquiries start on a phone. A desktop page squeezed onto a small screen loses them.

  • Slow

If the first screen hesitates, people go back to the search result.

  • Hard to navigate

When every service is dumped in one list, the right visitor cannot tell they are in the right place.

  • No clear call to action

A page can look finished and still fail to say what happens next.

  • Poor Google visibility

Thin pages, missing basics and an inconsistent local listing keep you out of the comparison.

  • Lacks trust

No reviews, no accreditations, no company detail. Careful customers leave.

  • No simple enquiry

If calling or writing takes effort, the enquiry goes to the business that made it easy.

  • Outdated design

An old template tells people the business has not looked at itself in years.

  • Does not reflect the business

The site describes a company you used to be, or a generic one you never were.

How the work is put together

Web design for any UK small business, from a studio near Darwen, Lancashire. Dedicated trade pages are extras, not a limit on who we build for. The same standard covers a focused site from £750 and a bespoke system from £2,500. The scope is what changes.

Calculators, booking and small systems when a page is not enough.

Built around how the business gets customers

Wix, Squarespace, a marketplace freelancer or an automated builder can publish a page quickly. They do not work out how your business actually wins the next job. We build the digital infrastructure around that: strategy, design, development, SEO, conversion and tools.

A shop, a clinic, a professional firm, a trade, or a business that does not fit a category. If it needs a site that explains the work and makes the next step obvious, we can build it. Roofers, driveway and landscaping firms, kitchen and bathroom companies, and car detailers have dedicated pages. Everyone else is welcome on the same terms.

Your business not listed? We build for everyone.

Who we work with

Websites for any local business, with dedicated pages for trades we know well.

Questions we are often asked

How much does a website cost for a small UK business?

Published starting prices are £750 for a Website Starter, £1,250 for a Business Website, £2,000 for Growth and £2,500 for a bespoke system. Monthly care starts at £49. The figure is confirmed in writing before a build starts. There is no local surcharge for Lancashire or Greater Manchester.

How long does a small business website take?

A focused starter site is often 2 to 4 weeks once the content is in and feedback comes back on time. A business website is often 4 to 8 weeks. Growth work and bespoke systems are scoped, and commonly take 6 to 12 weeks. Most delays are decisions and content, not the build.

Do you work with businesses in Lancashire?

Yes. TMWV is based in Darwen, Lancashire, and works across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and beyond, and remotely anywhere in the UK. Town pages exist for Darwen, Blackburn, Accrington, Chorley, Preston, Bolton, Bury, Clitheroe, Whalley and Longridge. No street address is published.

What is included in the website?

A structure based on the jobs you want, a layout that works on a phone, a form that has been tested, and the search basics. Writing can be drafted with you or supplied by you. Someone who knows the work still has to check that every claim is true. Hosting is recommended in your name.

Who will I deal with?

You deal with Matt, who runs the studio from Darwen. There is no separate sales team and no account manager in another office. The person who talks through the project is the person who builds it.
