Booking and payments

These are tools a client's own site can switch on. Naming them is not a partnership, a badge, or an endorsement, and we do not show their logos as if they have approved us.

Booking

  • Cal.com

An open booking page you can embed. It suits a roof inspection, a driveway survey, a design visit or a discovery call. Postcode checks and Stripe deposits can be added. We are not affiliated with Cal.com.

  • Calendly

The same job as Cal.com, and the one many owners already know. Useful when more than one person takes appointments, such as a kitchen showroom. We are not a Calendly partner.

  • SimplyBook.me

A better fit when the diary has services, staff and capacity: MOT slots, boiler services, or a removals survey. SimplyBook publishes its own booking statistics. Those are a vendor's figures, not ours.

  • Square Appointments

Sits naturally with detailing studios and garages that already take the card payment in person on Square. The booking and the till are the same company. That is a convenience, not an endorsement.

Payments

  • Stripe

The default for online deposits and payment links. Stripe's published UK price for standard cards is 1.5% + 20p. Card numbers are entered on Stripe Checkout, not on a form we build. We never store the card.

  • GoCardless

Direct Debit for a monthly plan: a boiler service plan, a detailing maintenance wash, or a garage plan. GoCardless publishes a price of 1% + 20p for Direct Debit, capped at £4. Prices change. Check theirs before you promise a fee to a customer.

  • Square and SumUp

Card machines for the driveway, the driveway deposit taken on site, the detailing bay and the garage counter. SumUp's online rate is about 2.5% on published comparisons. Use them where the customer is standing in front of you. Stripe still suits the link you send the night before.

  • PayPal

Some customers will ask for it, especially on a smaller detailing or removals deposit. It is an option at checkout, not a requirement. We do not put PayPal's logo on a page as if they have approved the business.

  • Klarna

FCA regulation of deferred payment credit, including products such as Klarna, began on 15 July 2026. The third-party lender has to be authorised. A merchant that only offers the product at checkout is generally exempt. It suits services around £100 to £1,500, such as a ceramic coating, a removals deposit or a larger garage repair. It is a poor fit for a £5,000 roof, driveway or kitchen, where instalment finance through a broker is the usual route.

Deposits on this site stay switched off until Stripe keys are set. The payment page is not linked from the menu.

Finance

  • V12 Retail Finance, Novuna and TradeHelp

A firm that introduces a customer to a lender is credit broking. It generally needs FCA authorisation, or it must act as an Introducer Appointed Representative of an authorised broker. Finance promotions have to follow FCA rules, including a representative example, and repayment figures are illustrative. We only add a finance widget after the client's lender or broker has approved them and supplied the compliant wording. Brokers used for this kind of work include V12 Retail Finance, Novuna and trade schemes such as TradeHelp. We are not those firms, and this is not a partnership or an offer of credit from us.

What each trade usually needs

A recommendation, not a package you are locked into. Funeral plans and credit broking stay off until the firm is allowed to offer them.
